Litton Entertainment Offers Video Description

Dave Morgan, President and CEO of Litton Entertainment, announced a partnership with New York based Bridge Multimedia to provide the incorporation of video description in the first 26 episodes of "Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin," one of the six E/I (educational/informational) programs currently featured on "Litton's Weekend Adventure" airing nationally on ABC television stations. Funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, video description provides enhanced detail of a program's visual content and is inserted during existing pauses in the show's audio track. This enhancement makes television programming more accessible to a wide range of viewers including those with learning disabilities, autism, viewers who are visually impaired and English language learners. As a result, ABC stations currently airing "Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin" will not only be providing high quality educational programming to their viewers, but supplemental information that ensures all viewers experience the full value of this remarkable programming.

Litton Entertainment and Bridge Multimedia are committed to making TV viewing a richer experience for all viewers. Inaugurating this service with "Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin" immediately showcases video description's value in building an even wider national audience. Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin is produced in partnership with Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium and a leading educational facility dedicated to conserving the vast resources of the world’s oceans, offering its own platforms specifically created for those with learning challenges.

According to Matt Kaplowitz, President of Bridge Multimedia, "This new partnership will allow viewers with special needs to enjoy the same high quality, educational television programming that most people take for granted. The "Weekend Adventure" shows, with their scope and sense of wonder, are a perfect fit for video description."

Dave Morgan added, "Giving all viewers a better opportunity to learn and witness things they otherwise couldn't is an important step moving forward in educational/informational programming. We at Litton are proud to be able to add this feature to 'Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin'."

Produced by Litton Studios, Litton's Weekend Adventure features six high-definition, original E/I series including Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin. Corwin is best known for his Emmy Award winning shows on the Disney Channel, Discovery and Animal Planet; Born to Explore featuring renowned adventurer and Explorer in Residence for the American Museum of Natural History Expeditions, Richard Wiese; Everyday Health, an inspirational program about people who confront health challenges by "paying it forward" produced by Mark Koops, a creator and an executive producer of The Biggest Loser; Food for Thought with Claire Thomas, hosted by Claire Thomas, a young role model for teens who shows America's youth how to forge a healthy relationship with food, family, and friends; and Culture Click, a hip social studies show anchored by rising star Nzinga Blake.
