Next: Special Education Grants Ready-To-Teach Grant Program General InformationReady-to-Teach Grant Type: The Ready-to-Teach Program supports two types of competitive grants to nonprofit telecommunications entities: (a) grants to carry out a national telecommunications-based program to improve teaching in core curriculum areas; and (b) digital educational programming grants that enable eligible entities to develop, produce and distribute innovative educational and instructional video programming. Ready-to-Teach Eligibility: Nonprofit telecommunications entities, or a partnership of those entities, may apply for grants to carry out a national telecommunications-based program to improve teaching in core curriculum areas. To be eligible to receive a grant under section 5481(b), an entity shall be a local public telecommunications entity, as defined in section 397(12) of the Communications Act of 1934, that is able to demonstrate a capacity for the development and distribution of educational and instructional television programming of high quality. Ready-to-Teach Grant Application Process: Applications must be submitted electronically through the Grants.gov Apply site at http://www.grants.gov/ unless an applicant has received a waiver of the electronic submission requirement.
