ED/OSEP Grant

About the ED/OSEP Grant

In October 2010, Bridge Multimedia was awarded a 5-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education to describe children’s educational television. The grant was renewed in 2015. Under these grants, Bridge is developing video description for children’s television which is aligned to appropriate national education standards. Programs are selected from among those broadcast on public and commercial television stations. Programs are appropriate for students from pre-K to 12th grade and are selected for their high educational value. Programs audio described through this project are available to students throughout the U.S. via broadcast television, and may additionally be distributed through online streaming media, videos, and other means.

Bridge has gathered together a prestigious group of consumer advisors to help us in choosing appropriate programming and making decisions about style and content of description. Complete list of Consumer Advisory Board Members and their profiles

Currently, we are describing more than a dozen shows that are broadcast nationally. See our Program List for a complete list of current shows being described by Bridge.
