Bridge Multimedia was thrilled to produce audio description for Javier in Frame, an accessibility-themed commercial which aired Super Bowl Sunday, 2024. The minute-long film showcases major experiences in the life of a blind man, which he captures by using smartphone Google Pixel’s AI-powered accessibility features. The spot was directed by blind filmmaker Adam Morse and narrated by blind music icon Stevie Wonder. Morse is a renown London-based actor/writer/producer/director who won numerous awards including ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Picture” for his film, Lucid at the 2019 Gold Movie Awards.
Bridge also provided extended audio description for a 2 ½ minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Javier in Frame, which features commentaries from Morse and his VFX Supervisor. It also provides informative insights from Google’s Technical Program Manager and the Head of Strategy for Google Accessibility.
In the spirit of the Super Bowl, Bridge bought an all-star favorite to the field by enlisting Nefertiti Matos Olivares, a popular blind audio description narrator, to be the voice talent. According to Bridge Project Manager, Ruth Acevedo, “Javier in Frame is so steeped in the experience of blind/low vision individuals that it was essential the audio description also be informed by a narrator who shared that experience.”
Matt Kaplowitz, Bridge CEO, said, “It’s a really banner short film. With a crucial message. We’re excited by how many people it touched having aired during the Super Bowl and on social media. And we’re delighted to know that the audio description will extend its reach even further!” Bridge Multimedia congratulates our friends at Google (this year’s accessibility MVP) for producing such a moving, meaningful ad – and for partnering with Bridge to create its audio description.
