New York City is going to be even more thrilling than usual, as the ReelAbilities Film Festival arrives, April 3 – 10. ReelAbilities is the largest annual film festival in the U.S. that is dedicated to furthering the understanding of stories and experiences of people with disabilities. Bridge Multimedia, a founding partner of ReelAbilities, never misses a chance to enjoy the exciting festival’s screenings, performances, panel discussions, seminars, and special guests (this year, Whoopi Goldberg). Bridge is always proud to provide dynamic audio description and captioning for films in the festival.
According to Matt Kaplowitz, Bridge CEO and member of the ReelAbilities Advisory Committee, “ReelAbilities is the very model of how complex and human themes related to disabilities can come together through film to create awareness in society. I can’t tell you how exciting it’s been to have watched this festival grow from small local showings in Manhattan to an event with international impact featuring screenings throughout diverse communities across the globe – and online.” ReelAbilities screens films from the United States and numerous international films, from countries including Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom. On many occasions international films received their U.S. debut at ReelAbilities.
Kaplowitz said, “But no matter how far ReelAbilities expands, it will always be New York to the core. It just has that ‘Big Apple’ vitality. That attitude.”
See you at ReelAbilities, this week!
