Bridge Multimedia is proud to have provided web and social media accessibility consultancy for the PBS American Masters documentary: Becoming Helen Keller, produced by the WNET Group. Bridge also provided the expanded audio description, captions, and American Sign Language.
The film examines how Helen Keller, DeafBlind since childhood, advocated for social justice throughout her extraordinary life. The WNET Group was committed to this program being fully accessible, and utilized Bridge’s services to deliver consultancy, expanded audio description, captioning and American Sign Language interpretation. Bridge ensured that the program’s website was accessible, and that an additional version of the film with expanded audio description content be available to stream. Bridge also produced accessibility for the film’s marketing campaign.
American Masters: Becoming Helen Keller premiered on PBS in October to correspond with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. In November, the film is being screened by disability groups throughout the country, in conjunction with Lights! Camera! Access! – an initiative to improve disability portraits in all forms of media.
