Regal Cinemas Expand Video Description for Movies

Regal Entertainment Group, the leading movie exhibitor in the United States, announced plans to provide all their digital cinema locations with video description and personal captioning technologies. Regal anticipates having almost all of their theaters converted to digital cinema by the end of 2012 - and to incorporate these accessible technologies for general customer use over the next year and a half. Randy Smith, Chief Administrative Officer of Regal Entertainment Group said, "Our intentions are to offer captioning and descriptive video for every film that comes with such content, at all show times, at every theater equipped and to be equipped with digital cinema systems over the next 12 to 18 months." Regal has partnered with Captionfish, a search engine that locates captioned and video described movies showing at theaters throughout the United States.
