Bridge Multimedia Releases the 4th Edition of Our Disability Mapping Guide for Gaming Producers

On January 6th Bridge Multimedia released its Disability Mapping Guide for Children’s Digital Game Producers – 4th Edition. The Guide maps the 9 categories of disabilities, as identified by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It provides video game developers and producers with actionable considerations for making gaming accessible for everyone.

On January 9th Bridge CEO, Matt Kaplowitz, will present the Mapping Guide at the 7th annual ED Games Expo, run by the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). The ED Games Expo showcases educational learning games as well as innovative forms of learning technologies for children and students in education and special education.

On January 17th Bridge’s Senior Project Director and Chief Researcher, Dr. Wendy Sapp, will present the Disability Mapping Guide to the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) The ATIA is a not-for-profit membership organization of manufacturers, sellers, and providers of technology-based assistive devices/services for people with disabilities.

The Disability Mapping Guide is fully PDF accessible. It was developed by Bridge’s STEM specialist, Steve Noble. The Guide is available to everyone without charge to further accessibility in gaming.
